Mary has over 31 years of experience in the field of Special Education. Her journey began as a parent of a child with severe disabilities. A desire to do more led her to becoming a respite/caregiver of individuals with disabilities, and a Para-Educator II for 22 years with the Sacramento County Office of Education. Mary works with students with severe disabilities in a K – 6th grade Special Day Class. She also works with several state and private agencies providing respite care to families with children with disabilities. Having been a mother of a child with a disability, Mary brings a special and valuable unique perspective to HOPE.
